Watchdog Pro-Lifers Get Abortionist’s License Pulled

— Posted by John (September 14, 2006 at 12:51 pm)

Via Operation Rescue:

State College, PA – A pro-life group, Centre County Citizens Concerned for Human Life, lodged complaints some time ago about their local abortionist with state Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs and the state Department of Health. This week it was learned that abortionist Harvey Brookman’s Pennsylvania license was revoked and he was fined $50,000 for operating without medical malpractice insurance, practicing medicine beyond the scope of his license, and “unprofessional conduct due to actions that departed from the quality standards of the profession.”

This guy apparently has more medical licenses than a cat has lives:

Brookman had a long history of disciplinary action. In 1996, his medical license was revoked in New York and he voluntarily surrendered his license in New Jersey to avoid revocation.

“We think Brookman is finally out of medical licenses and out of the abortion industry,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “But again, we must emphasize that Brookman’s conduct is more the rule than the exception when it comes the abortion industry. We don’t know of any abortionist that doesn’t have major problems. Those still left in the abortion industry are not exactly the cream of the crop.”

This fact is documented extensively by former abortionist Dr. Bernard Nathanson in his quasi-autobiography The Hand of God: A Journey from Death to Life by the Abortion Doctor Who Changed His Mind.

“This is another example of how savvy pro-lifers are using the system to stop abortion,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “Abortionists across the country are [losing] their licenses and abortion clinics are closing because pro-lifers are reporting botched abortions and shoddy conditions to the proper authorities. The truth is finally coming out about the seedy and dangerous nature of America’s abortion industry that has existed all along.”

Seedy and dangerous, indeed: see here, here, here, and here, for example.

In the past twelve months, 12 abortion clinics have closed, many because of efforts of pro-life groups. Brookman makes the fifth abortionist in that same time frame to have his license suspended or revoked, or to quit the abortion industry.

You know, it occurs to me, that because I live in a city, it feels like there is an abortion clinic on every corner. But I am realizing that when you leave the cities, abortion clinics are few and far between. Not that even one isn’t a disgrace, but with the closings that have been going on and the reluctance of “good” doctors having any part in this industry, I wouldn’t be surprised if slowly but surely, these clinics just disappear.

I was on spirit daily today and there is an article about a bio-ethisist named Peter Singer (too close to Sanger for comfort) and he is suggesting that we kill babies born with defects. It just goes to show you how depraved you have to be to perform abortions. Who are these people? Where are their consciences?

Someone on here was talking about the book “The sociopath next Door”. I’m reading that now, and I think if you could see into these “doctors” hearts and souls you would realize that they are all sociopaths. No conscience, so killing a baby to profit themselves is just another job, getting more (money, prestige, power) for themselves. Someone should write a book on “The Sociopath in the Abortion Clinic”…

Most controversial of his teachings is the suggestion that parents should have the right to kill infants up to 28 days old who have severe disabilities because at that age, he suggests, children don’t understand what it means to be alive. Those with serious health and physical concerns may ultimately be burdens on society, and the goal, he asserts, is to eliminate suffering in the world.

“Killing a defective infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person,” wrote Mr. Singer, who will fill an endowed professorship at the university’s Center for Human Values.

“When the death of a disabled infant will lead to the birth of another infant with better prospects of a happy life, the total amount of happiness will be greater if the disabled infant is killed. The loss of happy life for the first infant is outweighed by the gain of a happier life for the second. Therefore, if killing the haemophiliac infant has no adverse effect on others, it would, according to the total view, be right to kill him.”

Funny, I consider not having a conscience a defect.

Yes he is. He is originally from Australia. And apparently he is not alone in his thinking. According to the article (and others) it would seem that many bio ethisists agree with him.

Doesn’t it feel sometimes as tho the evil keeps getting more evil, and the good keeps getting better so that the space that separates us are getting bigger and bigger. Maybe that will work to our benefit. Maybe the evil will get so bad that it will be obvious to anyone with half a brain…or soul.

    Mary Kay,
I think that is exactly what is happening we are seeing the evil rather than it being so well hidden. Then you go out there and see it for yourself and you read pro-life news and blogs etc, it’s like pedophelia, it’s more exposed than it used to be,it’s a hot topic, not to mention they are being out numbered as time goes on. We see more good because there are more good people speaking their minds. Fact is, face the truth tours and protests are working. Though I sometimes think the suburbs are starting to hurt a bit because they are generally ignored, so while people are focused on the city the burbs are being targeted, there is now a planned parenthood express by me. Not that i’m surprised though, it was only a matter of time. The only difference is that i’ve never seen anyone protesting outside.
