When you live in a society where mothers pay people to rip their babies up into shreds, and this is acceptable, the culture has become so demented, none of the other issues will be seen clearly, and the culture will no longer be able to discern non-violent ways to solve problems.

Do you think people our culture is really going to truly address the issues of a just wage, when they no longer care about mothers caring for their children, and when they feel the true answer to these problems is abortion?

Do you think we can figure out how to settle disputes overseas with other groups of people when we drench our own soil with the blood of our most cherished?

The law only allows you to stay in a shelter for x amount of days, but the head of the shelter gets paid per body...so some of these girls had been there for over a year. But at the same time, if she had been a father of four and was truly unable to get work I would have thought the union was great. You'd have to tell me what exactly about unions is an issue. Illegal immigration is a really hard one. On the one hand, we can't just let people come here willy/nilly. There has to be some sort of priority list. It seems that Mexico is the worst problem.(Not mexicans, but the fact that the border is so accesible). I would absolutely like to see the border closed (to the best of our ability) but that would be more for illegal trade (drugs, etc) that for aliens. Our first job is to protect our own country. So the thought that terrorists have already entered our country through the Mexican border is truly frightening. On the other hand, we keep telling you that the entire world population could fit into Texas, so I'm pretty sure that we could accomodate a lot more people than we do. I have a real soft spot in my heart for immigrants. I taught pre-school for twelve years and my classes were like the UN. This is what our country is all about. I personally know some immigrants who are here illegally (one had to leave his two daughters at home in the Philippines and probably won't see them til they are twenty one.) He works hard, is honest, and I love him with all my heart. It makes me sick that he can't just stay here. But the bottom line is he broke the law. So I am really torn. We are working with a lawyer right now to help him, but the laws are really strict. There has to be some way to grant amnesty to those that are already here and to reunite them with their immediate families, (providing they are working) and still crack down on more of the same happening. It's an awful issue, and it tugs at the heartstrings. But I don't have a real solution. I often joke and say that we should just buy Mexico. In fact my one good friend became even vehemently more pro-choice after having her first child.

Oh and one comment I’d like to make about people who only endorse rethuglicans, not to say any of you do. The Democratic party is much more diverse— in fact many of the democrats that came in are pro-life. I’m not really endorsing them because I am obviously moderately pro-choice…. Take Bob Casey who replaced moron Santorum. He is pro-life. I believe Senator Harry Reid is pro-life. Many in the HoR are pro-life, especially the new rep class. I’m only mentioning this because I’m a political junkie. The Democratic party is much more to the center than it was 4 years ago. You can thank people like Barack Obama and yes Howard Dean for making this happen.
