Face the Truth 2007 Schedule Now Online

The schedule for the Pro-Life Action League’s summer Face the Truth Tour is now available online, including maps of each site and directions between sites.
Join us if you can July 7-14!
Last week, while we were doing a Face the Truth Day in Evanston, IL, someone came up to us and yelled, “Why don’t you show pictures of children who don’t have adequate housing?”
Um, these children don’t have adequate housing.
After several years of experience showing graphic abortion pictures out on the streets, we’ve gotten used to hearing complaints. A while ago, we posted a FAQ-type page on the PLAL site’s Face the Truth section that answers the most common objections we hear:
- What if children see these graphic abortion pictures?
- What effect do these pictures have on a woman who has had an abortion?
- Doesn’t the public display of graphic abortion pictures make the pro-life movement look extreme?
- Doesn’t it dishonor the unborn babies in these pictures to show them out on the street?
Our answers are here.

Lauren,
I doubt anyone who visits the GFL site will be supporting, much less attending this sickening “memorial” and reenactment. I hope not many people show up. I wasn’t sure the information in the link you posted was actually true until I saw the Children Need Heroes website myself.
Yes, there are some extremists who act supposedly in the name of life. Similarly, there are those in the other camp who also resort to violence (for proof, read about the Joe Schielder blinding at UIC a few years ago on the prolife action website). I pray for both, and condemn the actions of both. If you believe in God (I don’t remember if you do or not), please do likewise.
Please remember, the people worshipping Paul Hill no more represent me and my beliefs than I hope those who commit violence on pro-lifers represent yoiu.

Here’s one of my favorite comments from one of the past “Face The Truth” Tours…
——
I admit that where I was standing across the street, I encountered very little opposition this time except for some snide remarks. In fact, a number of people thanked me for being there and I was questioned by one young lady to whom I pointed out that all our sign said was “abortion,” and had a pictures of an aborted baby. It doesn’t even say we’re for it or against abortion.
I said, “What if I were holding a sign that said ‘McDonalds,’ and had a picture of a hamburger. Viewers would assume that I was pro-hamburger, not against hamburgers. But when I hold a picture of an aborted baby they immediately assume I am against abortion. Why? Because everyone knows instinctively that abortion is wrong and that when you hold a picture of an aborted baby you are not supporting abortion, but you are opposing it.”
She mused over that analogy for a few seconds and said, “That make sense. Now I have to get to work. I work at McDonalds.”
During Wednesday’s Face the Truth Day we covered six overpasses, had lines of pictures at the James R Thompson State of Illinois Building during Lisa Madigan’s press conference, leafleted the Daley Plaza and the Loop. We even found time to hold a dozen Malachi pictures in front of Fay Clayton’s Law offices on Wacker Drive. We thank those who came out on this perfect September day to help in winning the victory over abortion.
