More on the Youth for Truth Rally

— Posted by John (September 4, 2007 at 3:58 pm)

I was happy to see that the Youth for Truth Rally on Saturday got a good write-up in the Aurora Beacon.

From the time YFT formed just two weeks ago, I’ve been amazed at their enthusiasm and dedication to the pro-life cause. Now, with the huge success of Saturday’s rally, I’m even more impressed.

I’ve posted below some pictures I took at the event:

The 500 Youth for Truth T-shirts went like hotcakes, so a lot of teens didn’t get one. Still, many who attended already had their own pro-life shirts, like this member of Youth for Christ, whose shirt says, “Pro-God, Pro-Family, Pro-Poor, Pro-Life”:

Youths of all ages attended the Youth for Truth Rally, including our daughters Teresa, 4, and Cecilia, 3:

As we were getting the kids into the car after it was over Saturday afternoon, Cecilia summed up the rally as only a 3-year old can: “It was so fun.”

    John,

    Did you see this?

Planned Parenthood Fed acknowledges Aurora battle

    Hey, she stole our line.

A couple hours ago Planned Parenthood prez Cecile Richards sent the following email to her list, acknowledging Aurora as “ground zero” in the war over abortion, just a few days behind Eric Scheidler. At least we agree.

By this PP is obviously acknowledging that the situation in Aurora has escalated beyond a local skirmish into a major battle. Hooah. Apparently, Chicago PP CEO Steve Trombley is a girly-man general who can no longer handle the situation and may also have majorly miscalculated by concealing the clinic’s intended occupants a little too long.

Pro-aborts can’t scrape up bodies to show support? Pay $$ for a ribbon. PP can plaster thousands for just a few bucks. What a great money making scheme to boot.

Recall the photo montage I posted of moms, dads, children, and grandparents at the August 25 protest. According to PP, they represented the “anti-choice fringe.” Such liars. And no mention of PP’s alleged fraud. Of course, I’m not surprised.

Here’s the text of the letter with the actual next to it. (Click that to enlarge.)

    Dear ,

Something amazing is happening. Right now, this very moment.

Ground zero in the fight for women’s access to reproductive health care just landed in a town in the middle of America.

    Aurora, Illinois.

Aurora’s not really a town. It’s a fast-growing city outside Chicago where Planned Parenthood just built a large clinic. And ten days ago, the usual suspects in the anti-choice fringe showed up in droves - and by droves, I mean more people are protesting this clinic than we’ve seen for a long time.

That’s why we need your help. Today. Right now. We’re getting ready to open the clinic soon and we need your support - your support of Planned Parenthood and the clinic, and your support of the women of Aurora. From wherever you live, and with whatever time you have - you can help.

To be honest, it’s going to take all of our efforts to open this clinic. When the leaders of national groups like Operation Rescue and the Pro-Life Action League showed up and positioned the battle in Aurora as a top priority, we couldn’t just fight back. We knew we had to take this battle into our own hands - and into YOUR own hands - by opening with more warmth, more strength, and more solidarity with supporters than ever before.

You see, what’s happening in Aurora isn’t just some isolated incident. What’s happening in Aurora today is what’s happening in America. It’s not a war on a clinic - it’s a war on women’s access to needed health care - in Aurora, and across our country.

Planned Parenthood is showing up for this fight. I hope you will, too.

And PP thought the Aurora mill needed some PR so is showcasing a very nice artist’s rendering, not the actual site, on its homepage. Click to enlarge:

A turn out of @ 1300 has had this much effect. What kind of an effect would a turnout of @ 2500 at a future demonstration have? Or 3000 or more?

    Lauren said: ““God’s Princess” lmao.”

    Your derision is contemptible, Lauren.

A princess (or a prince, for that matter) is subservient to and respectful of the authority of the king and queen.

In the case of commenter God’s Princess, she is indicating by her moniker that she is faithful to the ultimate King, Jesus Christ, and the ultimate Queen, His Mother Mary.

“are you guys going to hold another demonstration?”

No. We’re going to hold several more demonstrations.
