On the Winning Side!

— Posted by Christina (March 22, 2008 at 5:24 pm)

Dear friends in the pro-life movement:

Christ is risen! We rejoice in His victory over death and the triumph of His Kingdom.

What special meaning does Easter have for all of us who work to bring an end to abortion, the greatest destroyer of the Culture of Life?

On Easter we celebrate and commemorate Christ’s rising from the dead. What exactly happened when He rose from the dead? He conquered the Kingdom of Death! Forever! No more is death a power, a kingdom, a mighty conqueror. In His rising we have new and everlasting life.

Christ’s conquering of the Kingdom of Death by His Resurrection is our greatest inspiration and hope in the pro-life movement. We can do our work with renewed assurance and conviction that we are on the winning side, the side that will not lose, will not lose as surely as Christ did rise from the dead, because through that rising He destroyed the Kingdom of Death.

What stronger and more victorious Captain could we dream of, than He who by His own power rose from the dead and destroyed that Kingdom? He now leads us on to certain victory in our efforts to renew a respect and love for the dignity and life of every person, victory in our battle against the greatest destroyer of the Culture of Life.

The Kingdom of Death, though trying to reign, will never and can never win, because Christ conquered it through His Resurrection from the dead and is our Captain in our work for life.

For us in the pro-life movement, the conquering of the Kingdom of Death does not mean that we will not die at the end of our lives. It rather means that death is no longer a power that can reign in our world and in our souls.

These reflections should give us all new courage, hope, and certainty that we are on the winning side, the side that will win because Christ has already conquered for us the Kingdom of Death. We have but to fight this Kingdom’s efforts to regain power. And because it’s powers have been already broken and crushed by the Resurrection, we will win.

A happy and blessed Easter to all!
God bless.

What a beautiful post and message of hope! I’ve often had the same thoughts, but you’ve beautifully written them down. (even though Eastern Orthodox don’t have Easter until April 27…but that’s besides the point)

    Truly He is Risen!

A Baby was saved from Abortion, Praise Jesus

For those of you who donated in some way to the beautiful baby shower on March 8th given for the Mom who was rescued from the abortion clinic on S. Saginaw Street, here is the fruit of your labors - Aubrey Marie Howell, born March 18th, 7 pounds 14 ounces. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. Isn’t she beautiful? Daddy was with Mom the whole time, and they are so thankful for the sidewalk counselors and those who were out there praying on the day she went in for the abortion. She asked me to thank all of you and tell you this is the best decision she has made in her life.

    Blessings to you all,

Let’s Spread the News of All the Babies Saved, and tell everyone, why LIFE is Precious Born & Unborn!!

This is a story that went national through the help of Jill Stanek.

A Hodari save born this week
On July 18, 2007, a mother named Taffiney entered late-term abortionist Alberto Hodari’s Flint, MI, pole barn abortion mill (pictured right, with 1 of Hodari’s classic cars on display; click to enlarge) to abort her 4th baby, about 6 weeks old. She told me last night, “It’s a day I’ll never forget.”
Taffiney and her husband were having a hard time making ends meet with 3 children and didn’t think they could afford another. Neither had been involved in abortion before but thought there was no other way out of their bind.
On A-Day they began washing clothes at a nearby laundromat, and then Taffiney went ahead of her husband to Hodari’s mill to start the paperwork….
On his way into the mill to join Taffiney after finishing the laundry, hubbie was greeted by pro-life sidewalk counselors including stalwart Karen Mercino.
“He called me inside the clinic on Miss Judy’s cell phone,” Taffiney told me. “We were both crying; we didn’t want to do it. He said, ‘I’ve been out here talking to these ladies, and they’ve been making sense to me. If God didn’t want us to have kids you wouldn’t have gotten pregnant.’”
Taffiney left the mill. “Everyone was crying,” she said. “I’m so glad they were out there that day. I honestly think - I know - we would have done it.”
Taffiney continued, “I swear to this day Miss Judy, Miss Karen, and Miss Daphne have been lifesavers. I hate to say it took abortion for us to meet them, but I’m glad we did.”
I asked Taffiney what she remembered of Hodari’s mill. “There was a lot of grief, not just mine, but you could see grief on other people’s faces. The nurses were not compassionate.”
Pro-lifers helped Taffiney’s family through her pregnancy, giving them money and dinner at Thanksgiving, purchasing Christmas toys for their other 3 children, “checking on me more than my family does,” said Taffiney.
On March 8 Flint Co. Right to Life, lead by president Judy Climer, sponsored a baby shower for Taffiney, also giving gifts to her other 3 children as well as grocery cards, gift cards, and baskets of groceries. So much was given, a car and a van were filled.
Then on March 18, little Aubrey Marie entered the world at 7#, 14 oz., and 20″ long.
Taffiney concluded, “Now that I look at her I think abortion would have been the worst mistake I ever made.”
I speak at several pregnancy care banquets each year. Every one has 1-3 client testimonies, just variations of Taffiney’s.
