Nader would be better than Obama, but he still doesn't give the pro-life movement anything, and would make matters worse for us.

But Baldwin wouldn't. Barr probably wouldn't either.

I myself will probably write someone in. Will it help keep Obama out of office? Of course not. But voting for McCain won't either.

Anna, I can see where you are coming from, but I would not be able to explain my choice if I voted for McCain. It doesn't make sense to me because I believe in a respect for all life. I cannot vote pro-choice, nor can I vote for an aggressive foreign policy that allows the deaths of so many innocent people. Both of these ideas are accepted at some level by both Obama and McCain, and I refuse to have a part in it. I don't push others in my pro-life group to accept this, but it is my own conviction.

What is it you tell your family members?

Greg, what do you mean about not having two choices? Do you believe we should all vote for Ralph Nadar and the Green Party or something?

Greg- Even if you think your vote doesn't count because you are from IL and it will in all probability go to Obama, at least in my case, my vote affects my family member's voting choices across the country. I need to set an example for them and be able to explain my choice.

Trish, where you are wrong is where you say that we have two choices. Too many Americans have this frame of mind - a majority in fact, which is why we can't seem to escape the bi=party machine..

I wouldn't exactly characterize all concerns with Palin as "petty."

Also, in reponse to Anna, I actually live in Illinois, which is not only a Democratis state because of Chicago, but also is Obama's home state. My vote really doesn't do anything to change the outcome of the election, so how can I be throwing my vote away by voting third party?

hey zeke,
If you are not going to vote for McCain then apparently you are fine with Obama winning the election even though he is WAY MORE pro-abortion than John McCain?

When you only have two choices, you have to pick the lesser of two evils. Would you rather have McCain or Obama as president? It is going to be one of them, and it is up to you to decide

John McCain is NOT pro-life. And he has not had a recent conversion. Its all about getting votes. He is not and still will not be pro-life after the election.

His wife Cindy outted him as being pro-Roe v Wade recently. he's bad. I am not voting for him ever.

Christina,

Wonderful job you did there in letting htem face the Truth....I think, the old woman must have had an abortion early in life for her to react that way to your questions...

I wanted to ask her how I, being 19 and thus born after Roe v. Wade, could trust Obama who supports Roe v. Wade and thus tells me that he would not mind if I would have been aborted!

This is a super awesome question for these Democrats; they hate to have to answer it, but they have to...

...I was relentless in insisting that if she could stand in that booth and support Obama, she needed to answer my question...
...And I think that my calm and politeness was unnerving her terribly

Jen,

I was going to vote for Keyes until McCain named Sara Palin his VP pick. McCain picking Palin was a sign the Pro-Life position is important to McCain. I am therefore throwing in my vote for McCain.

I believe Sara Palin will change McCain's mind on a few issues they disagree with including embryonic stem cell research.

Dr. Keyes is one of the greatest people of our time but in this election only McCain/Palin will make a difference.

Jen, I would say that voting for Alan Keys is not only throwing your vote away, but giving an extra vote to Obama because it could have been one more vote against him. Even though McCain might not be fully pro-life we still need to vote for him because definitly one and maybe two judges in the supreme court are stepping down within the next four years. This election is crutial in overturning Roe vs. Wade. If obama becomes president he will appoint pro-choice judges and there is no chance for Roe v. Wade to be overturned until more judges either step down or die and that isn't likely in the near future. EVERY PRO-LIFER NEEDS TO VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN BECAUSE HE WILL APPONT PRO-LIFE JUDGES TO THE SUPREME COURT!!!
- Hope this helps

Hey, I am confused about where GFL staff and readers stand about the election. I know Obama is extremely pro-choice and would never support him, but I think that John McCain is for embryonic stem cell research, and you believe that is wrong. I know he is for other pro-life issues, but I heard some people are voting for Alan Keyes. I'm assuming they are voting for Alan because John McCain isn't 100% pro-life, but does it really make sense to vote for him? Isn't that throwing your vote away, because I know he has no chance to win?
