The Red Envelope Campaign

— Posted by John (February 26, 2009 at 3:00 pm)

I’m not know exactly where this idea originated, but I keep hearing more and more about it — and now hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans are getting on board.

In case you somehow missed it, I thought you’d like to know about it, too: the RED ENVELOPE campaign.

The idea is to swamp the White House mail room with red envelopes that represent babies killed through abortion. Each envelope is empty, representing the life we never had the chance to know.

Here are the simple instructions:

1. Get a red envelope at an office supply or party store.

2. Address is to the president:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington DC 20500

3. On the back, write this message:

This envelope represents one child who died
in abortion. It is empty because that life was
unable to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception.

4. Stamp the envelope and mail it.

That’s all there is to it.

But to be effective, we need huge numbers of pro-lifers to participate. So send your red envelope, and let all your pro-life friends know about the campaign, too.

When President Obama sees how many Americans are willing to take action to speak up for unborn babies, he may begin to rethink his anti-life policies.

If you’re on Facebook, you can the Red Envelope Campaign group here. (And, while you’re at it, you can join the GFL Facebook group here.)

I’d seen the Red Envelopes to Obama message a couple weeks ago. Anyhow, after getting the 2/10 Breakpoint email, I decided to add my own touch: I copied Obama’s own quote onto the envelope as well.

“There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being. This much we know.” — President Barrack Obama, National Prayer Breakfast 2009

Perhaps if we remind him of his own words, he might hear God speaking them back to him. Maybe then he’ll see these unborn children as the innocent human beings they are.

    Peace,

    Julie

Like what petrufied said, we’re starting to do this in the Philippines, too. I hope the congressmen and senators take notice. We vote for them and pay for their salaries to make our lives better and to make laws that respect every member of society. Many of them have completely forgotten this.

***FOCA NOW BEING PASSED THROUGH YOUR BACK DOOR (ACT BY MARCH 4th)***

    PLEASE PASS THIS ON.

It appears that they may have gotten the message at the national level about the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) being very unwelcome in America. They know how to get around that, though. They are just going to introduce it in pieces instead and sneak it into appropriation bills. We all know by now that they pass legislation without even reading it or knowing what is in it. The pork laden “stimulus” bill already has billions of dollars going to agencies such as Planned Parenthood that will permanently enshrine abortion as a constitutional right in our country.

THE FOLLOWING IS VERY TIME SENSITITVE INFORMATION. PLEASE READ AND ACT ON IT NOW.

The death peddlers have now focused on the State level to introduce House Bill 2354 in our State Legislature, also known as the Reproductive Justice and Access Act (RJAA), which will accomplish, in the State of Illinois, the very same results that FOCA would do nationally! They are moving quickly to have it scheduled to be heard March 4 at 8:00 a.m. in the Human Services Committee. Now is the time to take action. See the information below as to exactly what you can do to help.

Please help educate the members of the Human Services Committee on the dangers of the Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA) and urge them to vote “NO” on HB 2354. If Illinois should pass this bill, abortion would be enshrined as a right in Illinois. All the protections that have been fought for over the years would be gone, protections for women, parental notification, ban on partial birth abortion, conscience clause for doctors and health care providers, no tax payer funding. Let’s do what we can to kill the bill in committee. The FOCA bill is now in the Human Services Committee scheduled to be heard March 4 at 8:00 am. Please contact them today.

    Petition Against FOCA in Illinois

Students for Life of Illinois has initiated a petition to lawmakers in Springfield to show them that Illinois does not support what HB 2354 (Reproductive Justice and Access Act) proposes. The petition will be presented to legislators in Springfield on March 4th when the students are there to rally.

“Planned Parenthood is leading a Lobby Day on March 10th in support of HB 2354. We must have a strong showing both in Springfield and for those who cannot make it to Springfield. That is why we initiated this petition. We want every pro-life voice to be heard,” said John-Paul Deddens, director of Students for Life of Illinois. “We will get to Springfield first, but it is imperative that we arrive with as much support as possible.” Click on this link to sign: http://sflillinois.org/illinois-foca-petition (This is not just a list of names that you pass on – they will have stacks of the web petitions to present.)
