Hi All!
The GFL staff has kindly offered to let me blog here, and I’m most grateful for the opportunity! I’ll try to keep my posts concise, informative, and interesting. To give you an inkling of an idea of what I’m like, and a picture of who I am, please do read on!
My name is Ava, and I’m an 18 year old avid pro-lifer, who has grown up in the Chicagoland area. I’m also a proud Roman Catholic papist, as well as a true feminist who loves to laugh, sing, debate, read, bike, kayak, play tennis, go resale shopping, watch movies, and munch on apples! That’s all you really need know about me, since most of my posts will be relevant to the pro-life movement, and not myself.
I’ve been pro-life since before I was born, but didn’t start becoming truly active in the prolife movement until I was about 10 years old. That year my family took me (for my first time) to the March for Life held in Washington DC. This memorable experience impacted and influenced me to be more involved in the fight against the culture of death, especially abortion.
Since then, I’ve attended numerous pro-life prayer vigils, marches, talks, conferences, abortion protests, and various prolife events, the majority of which have been coordinated and sponsored by the Pro Life Action League, to whom I’m most appreciative!
Of late, I’ve been focusing my pro-life energy and time in prayer witnessing outside of my local abortuary, and at present am educating myself on how to be an effective sidewalk counselor.
I look forward to blogging (though it’ll be sporadic at times), and will try not to be boring, as I educate myself and others on the absolute wrongfulness of abortion. God bless!

Thought & Action says:
Abortion is evil because it offends God. The accidental aspects are totally separate (the death of the child, injury to the mother and to society) They are side effects of a terrible sin. ‘God forgives but nature punishes’
These are natural consequences of the act but not the primary reason why abortion is evil.
The primary reason is the 5th commandment, ‘thou shalt not kill’. This evil lies in disobedience to God. Abortion is a grave sin.
A secular or ecumenical pro-life approach is flawed and will bring about downfall.

The little baby born with anencephaly has died. Let us pray for her dear soul and for her mother.

“The best 93 days of my life…
were spent with my daughter. Faith went to Heaven today. We spent the entire morning and some of the afternoon snuggling together in my warm bed. I told her that I loved her many times. I was holding her in my arms when she passed away. It was around 4:40 in the afternoon. I had just finished changing her diaper and I decided to pick her up and wrap a blanket around her. She made a very sweet smiling face and held it for several seconds… I thought it was very cute. I waited for her to take her next breath, but she didn’t. She looked up at me and opened her beautiful eyes, and I realized what was happening. I told her to go with Jesus. I told her that I loved her and that it was ok, that I would meet her in Heaven. I held her close and cried tears on her face. I felt her chest and there was no longer a heartbeat. But she still looked so beautiful. And even now, she is still so amazingly beautiful… as I hold her here she is looking like a porcelain doll. Her tube feed is gone. Her lips are still pink and her facial expression looks so happy and peaceful. God is good.
Thank you all for your prayers.”

Thanks Margaret and RSD!!!
Thought & Action: What an inspirational miracle of life! I never heard of anencephaly before, but I’m so happy the mother chose without question not to abort her daughter! I will definitely keep the family in my prayers. I was reading the blog, and the “cosy in her stroller” video was so cute! Babies are such wonderful blessings!
