Aloha from New Guest Blogger

— Posted by Kara (August 10, 2009 at 1:43 pm)

Aloha Everyone!

My name is Kara, age 17, and I am a home-schooled student living in Hawaii with my parents and younger brother. I’m honored to have been asked to be a guest blogger for Generations for Life! I hope to mostly contribute to issues regarding chastity, Euthanasia, and Abortion, including some of my reflections on these topics.

My hobbies include reading (when I have time!), knitting, freelance writing, poetry, photography, cake decorating, apologetics, watching movies, music (including oldies), pro-life, hanging out with friends/family and singing (which can drive my family nuts!).

I am home-schooled with Seton Home Study School, which I really enjoy since it has given me such a good grounding in my Catholic Faith. I am appreciative of my mother for teaching me since Kindergarten–it’s my last year! I hope to attend a Catholic college or Hawaii Pacific University.

At times, I won’t be posting much because I have a very demanding course load and my computer time is limited or used up with school assignments.

Thanks and God bless you all! I look forward to blogging!

Kara~

Welcome Kara! We’re glad to have the young ‘uns involved in the fight for Life.

Just curious, what do you consider “oldies music”??

ALOHA KARA!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited and happy you’re going to be blogging! You have a really beautiful name!!! I’m looking forward to reading your posts! Happy rest of Summer! God bless you!!!

P.S. I’m so happy I’m not the only one who loves to sing!!! It’s so uplifting! Are you an Alto or a Soprano? I love to sing Sacred Music…and goofy songs from musicals, and Bobby Darin, and gregorian chant, and the monkees and the mamas and papas…the motley list goes on!

I hit enter before I could submit my last sentence which was “What do you enjoy singing, if you don’t mind my asking?”

RSD: I consider oldies Elvis and before, including early Motown hits or soda fountain songs…I used to think it included 60′s and 70′s. I like oldies, 60′s, 70′s, and some of today’s music.

Ava: Hi! I’m an alto. I will be in our church choir when I can. I can sing higher with some practice or songs I really like. I sing any songs I like, songs from musicals (like you), Beatles, Aly and A.J., country (Rascal Flatts or Carrie Underwood esp.), and one of my top favorites, The Phantom of the Opera.

Welcome, Welcome, Ave!!! Glad you’re on; this is so fun. I’m one of the other bloggers, but I must admit I haven’t been on here much recently. Been so busy with lots of pro-life stuff. But I hope to pick it up again.
    See you on!
    God bless.
