It’s Not a Person. Really?

— Posted by John (August 15, 2012 at 10:15 am)

We’ve all heard the argument that a human embryo/fetus/baby in the womb isn’t really a person.

So if someone showed you this graphic:

…what would you say?

The dress one is irrelevant. The top two do not work for the argument because they are not actively dividing and growing. The egg doesn’t have the potential, the nut does have the potential but the egg and sperm come together and are actively developing into a person.

Yes the “Not a dress” photo is totally irrelevant. It is not even a living thing. The chicken egg may or may NOT be fertilized.. so the comparison is invalid. As for the “tree”.. no it is not a tree.. but it IS an OAK. Just like an embryo/fetus is NOT an Adult.. but it IS a human being… and to be totally accurate.. that last photo is also TRUE… but it WILL be a human being in about 30 seconds or so… once conception ACTUALLY occurs.
