Generations for Life Staff
Generations for Life Director John Jansen is committed to raising up a new generation of pro-life leaders, especially by helping young people to establish pro-life clubs at their schools and churches. He is assisted by Pro-Life Action League Executive Director Eric Scheidler and Communications Director Matt Yonke.
John Jansen is the Director of Generations for Life. He is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago, and has long been involved in pro-life activities. Before joining Generations for Life, he taught religion and social studies to junior high and high school students for four years.
John assisted in writing and editing the Generations for Life Pro-Life Club Curriculum, the main resource used by GFL to assist students in organizing and maintaining effective pro-life clubs.
Additionally, John is the author of a catechetical session on abortion that appears in the 2013 edition of Living and Loving Our Catholic Faith: Affirming Life, a publication of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), of which Generations for Life is a collaborating member.
He also maintains frequent contact with students seeking to learn more about abortion and pro-life activities and speaks regularly to junior high and high school groups on the subjects of pro-life and chastity.
John and his wife Jocelyn have six children.
Eric Scheidler is the Executive Director for the Pro-Life Action League and, along with his assistant Matt Yonke, works closely with John on several Generations for Life projects. He designed the Generations for Life website and serves as webmaster.
Eric is the oldest of the seven Scheidler children. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in English studies from the University of Georgia. He and his wife April have eight children.
Eric also serves as the co-chairman of Stand Up for Religious Freedom.
